Coach trip to Martin Mere, Lancashire

Location: Coach departs 7.30 am promptly from Humberstone Gate, Leicester (opposite Sainsbury's) and arrives back in Leicester at approximately 7.00 pm.
Additional Pick Up Points - please state when booking. It is essential that we know who is expected at which pick-up point, especially if there are any last-minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather. Times are approximate, so please be at your pick-up point 5 minutes earlier than listed:

The Leicester Group are re-visiting one of their favourite reserves, Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve in Lancashire. Birds to see include swans, geese, ducks, waders and raptors.

This trip was snowed off in December 2017, so we are hoping for better luck this year.

Refreshments are available in the popular reserve cafe.

Spring in the Arizona Desert and Autumn in Yellowstone

Location: Regulars please note that this is the second Friday of the month because of Christmas.

Meetings are open to members and non-members alike and refreshments (coffee/tea and biscuits) are usually available. We have some excellent and knowledgeable speakers who support their talks with amazing and beautiful images, so please bring your friends and give both the speaker and the Local Group your support.

GIANPIERO FERRARI begins amongst the giant Saguaro and flowering cacti in the Arizona desert with local birds and reptiles, then visits the Painted Desert National Park and the Grand Canyon.

After the tea break we visit Yellowstone in search of Grizzly and Black Bear, Wolf, Moose, Bison, Elk etc. finishing at the Grand Tetons National Park for spectacular landscape, autumn colours and wildlife.

Gianpiero is a long time friend of the Group and is an incredibly talented photographer, so we look forward to a real treat this evening.
