Indoor Meeting - The British Isles to the Friesian Isles

Location: Leicester Local Group's indoor meetings are held on a Friday night at the Methodist Hall, Harborough Road, Oadby. This is on a bus route and there is ample free parking on site, For location map see: http://www.oadbymethodist.co.uk

If you haven't been to one of our meetings, do please give it a try. We would love to meet more of our members in person, although you don't have to be a member to come along. Our new year of indoor meetings begins with JOHN GARDNER, who is back with a mix of bird centric British wildlife. He will finish his talk with a section on birding on Texel, the largest of the Friesian Isles on the coast of Holland.

Coach trip to Conway RSPB reserve and Llanfairfechan

Location: Coach departs 7.30am promptly from Humberstone Gate, Leicester (opposite Sainsbury's) LE1 3PJ. Arrival back in Leicester at approximately 7.00pm.

Conway RSPB reserve on the banks of the Conwy estuary has magnificent views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle and is delightful at any time of year. Birds can always be seen from the visitor centre, and more than 200 different species have been seen at this reserve.

The warden expects about 80 species at this time of year. On 22 September 2018 they had spotted crake, short-eared owl and about 8 wader species.

Christmas Craft Fair

Location: Aylestone Leisure Centre, Knighton Lane East, Leicester

Our annual Craft Fair will again be held at Aylestone Leisure Centre, Knighton Lane East, Leicester, on Saturday 23rd November from 10.00am to 2pm. We have the use of a large hall and there is plenty of parking space.

The Leicester Local Group have held a Christmas Craft Fair for more than 25 years. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, run entirely by volunteers, so please come along and support our fund-raising efforts and bring your friends, family and neighbours.

We hope to have 15 or more craft stalls with a variety of hand-made goods for sale, as well as a raffle, tombola, pre-loved books, home-made cakes and RSPB sales goods.
