Indoor Meeting - Wonderful Wetlands

Location: We hold our indoor meetings on a Friday at 7.30 pm at the Methodist Hall, Harborough Road, Oadby, LE2 4LA. This is on a bus route and there is ample free parking on site. For location map see: http://www.oadbymethodist.co.uk/?page=contact

CHRIS WARD presents a celebration of the wide variety of wildlife living in and around England's rivers, lakes, ponds and wet grasslands, featuring birds, mammals, amphibians and insects from both familiar favourite locations and lesser known sites.

If you haven't been to one of our meetings, do please give it a try. We would love to meet more of our members in person, although you don't have to be a member to come along. We have some excellent and knowledgeable speakers who support their talks with amazing and beautiful images, so please bring your friends and give both the speaker and the Local Group your support. Refreshments (coffee/tea and biscuits) are usually available, and our meetings end at about 9.30 pm.

Coach trip to Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve, Lincolnshire

Location: Coach departs 7.30am promptly from Humberstone Gate, Leicester (opposite Sainsbury's). Arrival back in Leicester at approximately 7.00pm

NEIL GLENN takes us on a birdwatching and wildlife journey from the Sahara Desert to the coast around Agadir, taking in the Atlas Mountains and the world famous Tagdilt Track. Prepare to meet some of the avian specialities of this fascinating North African country.

Location: Coach departs 7.30am promptly from Humberstone Gate, Leicester (opposite Sainsbury's) LE1 3PJ and arrives back in Leicester at approximately 7.00pm.

Fingringhoe Wick is Essex Wildlife Trust's first nature reserve and visitor centre, set in a spectacular and peaceful position overlooking the Colne Estuary. There is a wide range of habitats, including grassland, heathland and ponds.

We are hoping for good numbers of nightingales and other migrants.
