Starling perched on wall

Staffordshire Starlings Star

Starlings in Staffordshire made the local news recently with a magnificent winter roost at the Walton Industrial Estate near Stone. Thousands of birds provided a spectacular evening display, wheeling in black clouds before noisily settling to roost. The Walton Industrial Estate is located where the A34 Stafford to Newcastle road meets the A51.

Short-eared owl sitting on the ground

Hail Southport!

It's not often that you can enjoy great views of Merlin, Peregrine and Short-eared Owl all at the same time along with an accompanying cast of waders, but that's just what happened on our recent trip to the RSPB Marshside reserve in Southport. To find out how we battled hailstorms for some great birding, read our 'Trip Reports' section.

Our next trip is planned for 20th May 2007. If you would like to join us, then please get in touch.
