Goldfinch on seed feeder

It's Nearly BGB time - Get Ready!

Last year, 609,177 people took part in the Big Garden Birdwatch and saw over 10 million birds! Clean and top up your bird feeders today to get the birds in the habit of feeding, then sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy your local wildlife.
If you don't have a garden, you can still take part. Past locations have included narrow boats, care homes and city centre flats - visit the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch website for more information on what to do and how to report your results.
Big Garden Birdwatch promotional events are also being held in local stores, so look out for the RSPB signs.

Rex Trelfa

We are sorry to hear of the death of Rex Trelfa who was for many years our group Treasurer. Rex was a keen naturalist and had an extensive knowledge of both flora and fauna. He shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others, leading wildlife walks for U3A. We offer our sincere condolences to his wife Dorothy and all their family.
Funeral service at St Chad's Church, Lichfield at 10.30 on Thursday 19th January. Flowers or donations to the RSPB welcome.

What a Picture!

What a Picture!

As part of our Christmas meeting, we invited group members to display their own wildlife photographs. We had a tremendous response and some amazing images demonstrated the talent within the group. As well as generating discussion, sale of the display boards generated funds for RSPB conservation work. Due to popular demand, we'll be repeating the event next Christmas - so make sure you capture those special wildlife moments of 2012 and take part next time!
