Cannock Chase AONB

Britain's smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) covering an area of under 17,000 acres, Cannock Chase is the largest surviving area of lowland heathland in the Midlands. It supports a wide range of species, but is particuarly noted for the Nightjar, which can be heard on summer's evenings. Common Crossbills are also seen.

Cannock Chase lies between the A34 Cannock to Stafford road and the A513 between Stafford and Lichfield.
