RSPB Lowestoft & District Local Group - Members update

Dear member,
I trust you are all safe and well in these difficult times and are now able to enjoy your greater freedom again.
As you know all group activities throughout the UK were suspended by RSPB HQ in March, and it had been hoped to resume activities in September this year.
However, events have now overtaken this, and a decision has been taken by RSPB that all group activities are to continue to be suspended until January 2021.
The relevant section of the instruction I received is as follows:
"We have taken the decision to extend the suspension of Local Group indoor and outdoor meetings until 31 December 2020. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly. We have listened to feedback and taken into consideration the resource and support needed to help all groups get to a place where these activities can be delivered safely. There is still a lot of uncertainty about how to undertake formal social events in a covid secure way, and to date no examples that we can learn from."
This means that, all being well, we will restart our indoor meetings in St Marks Church Hall on Friday, January 8th, 2021 (the first Friday of 2021 is New Year's Day).
Our first field trip for 2021 is planned for Thursday, January 21st.
Your committee is planning to deliver the Autumn edition of Round Robin to you along with the 2021 events programme during November 2020.
In the meantime if you have any questions please give me a ring.
So, until we meet again, stay safe - and I and your committee look forward to seeing you in St Marks Church Hall on Friday, January 8th, 2021.
Best wishes
Howard Bayliss, Group Leader.
