31 December 2017 midday.
Little egret in field between Paddlers' pool and the canal (near Higher Fence road bridge, Hurdsfield).

28 December 2017 am - Prestbury sewage works area along the Bollin
Two snipe, overflying cormorant.

25 December at 8 20 am at gate of nos. 2 & 4 Butley Lanes, Prestbury, heard a chiffchaff in the trees. Could not see it.

18 December - Carsington Water
Great northern diver, tree sparrow, ruff, willow tit, gadwall, goldeneye (males and females), wigeon, little grebe, great crested grebe, pochard, tufted duck, teal, fieldfare, redwing, song thrush, tree creeper, lapwing, bullfinch, pied wagtail.

12 December - field behind Roewood lane, Hurdsfield ,
Three snipe (1st sighting in area in 20 years).

04 December -River Bollin off Brook Street Macclesfield.
Large group of long-tailed tits, goldcrest, two coal tits, two blue tits and two great tits.

Single Hawfinch, Sutton St James Church, top of Lime Trees.

01 December - 2pm
The little owl is still occupying the same tree, higher branch (29 November sighting - Gawsworth Road, Macclesfield on the left after the houses but before the turn for Penningtons Lane). A species in decline (down 24%) but good to see this one.

01 December - Astbury Mere.
We have made it into December and we still have a swallow feeding over the water, also seven teal and 27 pink-footed geese over north west at 11-30am.
Also raven, and grey wagtail.
