28 February @ 7.30 - 8.00 Sutton,Downing Close
13 Waxwing, 20 plus Brambling

24 February garden on Congleton Road, Macclesfield.
Two Goldcrest (at the same time) loving the fat balls plus one female Blackcap.
2 Dunnock together.
The day before (23 Feb) first pair of Bullfinch.

22 February
Bird sightings at Styal Country Park.
A cool. damp day. Birds seen included many Goldcrest with males displaying.
The Dippers were back at the nesting site.
The Kingfishers were also active and back in last years nesting area.
Goosander numbers are hard to gather but at least 15 on the Bollin.
Siskin and Lesser Redpoll numbers still high and dog walkers again were flushing Woodcock from wooded areas - numbers again hard to estimate but cerrtainly 10 plus in Southern Woods.
A lone singing male Blackcap.
Buzzard numbers also appear to be increasing with five in the sky seen together regularly.

19 February. A few sightings from garden in Bollington:
Peregrine - chasing the local pigeons
Red kite flying north east and mobbed by jackdaws - my first Cheshire record so very pleased.
2 ravens displaying, male and female blackcap.

Female Bullfinch seen in a garden either feeding/collecting nest material? On the ground at Alderley Edge next to A34.

A solitary Waxwing near to Standing Stones car park perched on the top of one of the small conifers.

First Skylark of the year heard this morning above Tagsclough Hill in Wildboarclough.

91+ Waxwings by Congleton garden centre but they flew off after a hour.
Also Astbury the Long-tailed Duck still.

Some lovely sitings of Goldcrest this month.

13 February
Astbury Mere - the Long-tailed Duck is still there plus a pair of Goosander, four Little Grebe and an adult winter Common Gull.
Bosley - two Barnacle Geese with a large flock of Canadas on the reservoir.

Numerous garden sightings of Reed Buntings in Sussex Avenue, Gawsworth. Two feeding from the seeders, at least eight sighted this morning and around 15 during the afternoon.

c.35 Waxwings in sycamore, with more in surrounding trees.
Garden sighting, but would be easily seen from South Park (west side) if still present.

Saw pair of crossbills on the ground nibbling a plastic, young tree stem cover approx 10ft from where I was standing in Macclesfield forest on the wide top track to Standing stones.
Also two females perched high in same area.
