Styal Bird walk, Thursday 27 April 2017 - quite eventful.
The first dipper young has left the nest and the adults are still feeding young in the nest. There were two young last year so we are hoping for at least the same this year.
Also seen were treecreeper and mallard young.
There are at least three pairs of breeding grey wagtail on site with two pairs of kingfisher. The male and female goosanders are still present.
Large numbers of chiffchaff and blackcap are on site and unusually at least five singing willow warblers but I guess these will soon move offsite. All usual suspects were present - nuthatch and great spotted woodpecker are again breeding in good numbers.
Grey partridge present in fields between car park and Twinnies Bridge. Also two pairs of stock dove on site.
