Has anyone actually seen the Redesmere bird fly? I'm just wondering if it may have been grounded through injury and then left behind?
Also it is well worth making the trip to East Leake (near Loughborough) to see the marvelous Bee-eater colony. I still can't believe I could watch them less than 70 miles from my house! The RSPB are managing the car parking and access to the site.

A female hen harrier - seen from the top of Kerridge Ridge circling over Rainow. We watched it for quite a few minutes until it did a 45 degree stoop at speed flying in the Macclesfield direction from quite a height until it dropped out of sight.

24 July 2017 13.40 - Holmes Chapel - in the wood north of Twemlow Viaduct SJ772681
Female pied flycatcher. From the viaduct I took the footpath north up the valley side towards Twemlow Green. Where the path draws alongside the wood I went into the small slopey clearing on the left just across the stream. It was in the top of the young plantation there.
