Danes Moss Breeding Bird Survey 2018

Danes Moss Nature Reserve, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Wildlife Sightings
This year's survey started on 19 March and continues at four weekly intervals until the end of July.

Monday 7 May 2018 (7.00 am to 9.30 am) - Danes Moss Cheshire Wildlife Trust Reserve
(Part of the Breeding Bird Survey being carried out at the reserve)
33 species of birds seen and/or heard - in particular:
blackcap, chiffchaff, garden warbler, great spotted woodpecker (H), jay, lapwing, oystercatcher, reed bunting, swallow, treecreeper, whitethroat, willow warbler.
Butterflies seen:
orange tip, brimstone, green-veined white, speckled wood.

barnacle goose, blackbird, blackcap, black-headed gull, blue tit, bullfinch, buzzard, Canada goose, carrion crow, chaffinch, chiffchaff, coal tit, coot, dunnock, goldfinch, great spotted woodpecker, great tit, greylag goose, house sparrow, jackdaw, jay, kestrel, little grebe, long-tailed tit, magpie, mallard, mistle thrush, moorhen, nuthatch, oystercatcher, feral pigeon, pheasant, reed bunting, robin, rook, shoveler, song thrush, teal, treecreeper, wheatear, willow warbler, woodpigeon, wren.
