30 July - Grey Wagtail (pair), River Bollin between Tytherington and Prestbury (Jeremy Snape)

27 July - 210+ Lapwings, Henbury (David Tolliday)

27 July - Little Egret (3), Common Tern (2 adults and 2 fledged youngsters) Shallows at the north end of Rudyard Lake (David Collis)

4 Common Tern, 2 adults and 2 fledged


25 July - 15 Swifts feeding over the fields between Cliff Lane and Tegg's Nose, one of which survived a prolonged a dramatic chase from a Hobby, almost being caught on several occasions. (Mark and Clair Arnold)

25 July - Emperor Dragonfly, Brown Hawker, Four-spotted Chaser and Blue-tailed Damselfly at CWT Danes Moss (David Tolliday)

25 July - Mandarin Duck on Macclesfield Canal south of Lyme Green Retail Park (David Tolliday)

22 July - Spotted Flycatcher at Marton (David Tolliday)

22 July - Whooper Swan at Redesmere (David Collis and David Hull)

21 July - Little Egret and Cuckoo at Mere Farm Quarry (David Collis)

18 July - Whooper Swan at Redesmere (David Collis)

17 July - Golden Plover (2) at Axe Edge (David Tolliday)

17 July - Whooper Swan at Redesmere, around 6 pm. It was on its own in the water and then went to the bank on the left hand side (if looking at the lake from the parking area) Simon Jackson

15 July - Kingfisher, Swift (6), Swallow (group of 20/25 moving through), Lesser Black-backed Gull (overflying), Mandarin (5), Blackcap, Chiffchaff (1 adult and 4 fledglings) at River Bollin, Prestbury, sewage works area (Steve McCoskery)

13 and 15 July - 37 species seen at Redesmere. Highlights Hobby (pair) and Whooper Swan (what is it doing here at this time of year?). Others include Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Cormorant, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Great Crested Grebe, Grey Heron, Grey wagtail, House Martin, Kestrel, Kingfisher, Long-tailed tit, Oystercatcher, Sand Martin, Song Thrush, Swallow, Swift, Wren. 13 July - House Martins (20+) over Tytherington (David Tolliday)

10 July - Five screaming Swifts at Waitrose, Poynton. (Viv Arnold)

9 July - Siskin (pair) on a bird feeder in a Poynton garden. (Glenys Gregson)

6 and 8 July - 33 species seen including Chiffchaff, Common Sandpiper, Common Tern, Cormorant, Grey Wagtail, Kingfisher, Lapwing, Little Ringed Plover, Oystercatcher, Song Thrush, Sparrowhawk, Swallow and Swift. Nature Stuff birdwatching session - Tittesworth Water (Tina Hanak)
