Removal of old barns at RSPB Northward Hill

The barns have not been in use for many years and a recent assessment (of all structures at RSPB Northward Hill) finds these buildings to be unsafe and may soon present a risk to the adjacent Saxon Shoreway. The badger sett will not be disturbed and we have spoken to the appropriate organisations. To mitigate for the loss of the barn owl nesting site, a barn and little owl nest box have been installed in our cattle shed and a barn owl nest box in the walnut tree.
