Full facilities here including toilets and a well-stocked shop for those last-minute Christmas
presents, and take away refreshments too.

A winter visit to this the RSPB's oldest reserve. We'll look for wintering wildfowl such as smew, goldeneye and grebes, plus swans, geese, divers and egrets.

Park on the left side of the minor road leading to the Ship Inn. The path to the west side of the creek starts at the beginning of the road, which is the furthest end from the pub. There are no facilities at this site other than something to warm us up at the pub later!

We'll take a walk on the west side of the creek for a change and look out for little owl, raven, shore lark, snow bunting and birds on the Swale including mergansers.

November Illustrated Talk by Brian Nobbs - East Anglian Highlights

Brian's presentation to the RSPB Medway Local Group is titled EAST ANGLIAN HIGHLIGHTS and he will tell us about some of the best places to find and watch wildlife in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.

The presentation, which is open to non-members, will take place on Tuesday 16 November at
Parkwood Green Community Centre, Gillingham. ME8 9PN. 7.30pm - 9.45pm. Doors open 7.00pm. Everyone welcome. Entry, pay at door, £3.50 each for members and £4.00 each for non-members. Including tea, coffee or squash during the interval.

Free Walk with Nature on Sunday 7 November at Capel Fleet and Swale NNR. Organised and lead by the RSPB Medway Local Group.

We'll meet up at the Raptor Viewpoint and look for merlin, buzzard, peregrine and hen harrier before heading round to Swale National Nature Reserve to try to identify the wildfowl and geese which should be present. Please park on the hard standing on the left just before the church.

There are no facilities or cover on this walk so please come prepared.
