Mid-Nene supports Great Bustard project

At the April meeting Hilary Guy, Group Leader, presented Mark Avery with a cheque on behalf of the group for £4000. This was made up of £1000 from the 2009 200 Club for work into the return of the Great Bustard to Salisbury Plain and £3000 for a donation to an East Midlands/East Anglian project selected by the RSPB.

80 "volunteer years" recognised

80 "volunteer years" recognised

At the April meeting Mark Avery, Director of Conservation for the RSPB, presented long service awards to a number of volunteers. Penny Elmer and Janet and Tony Kirby all received their 5 year Swift award, Hilary Guy, her 15 year Kingfisher award and Alan Edwards, his 20 year Osprey award. Bob Webster received the Red Kite award for an amazing 35 years of volunteering for the RSPB through the Mid-Nene Group.
