Winter visitors

Winter visitors

Last winter many of us saw fieldfares in our gardens just like this eating the berries from cotoneaster, pyracanthas, rowan trees and other shrubs. So far this year we have not had much snow so berries across the country have been plentiful. If you are lucky enough to have a visit from these beautiful winter visitors watch out for the redwings, members of the same thrush family but smaller, with a noticeable red line where their wings fold against their body, easily seen when they are feeding.
