Guided walk: Sewardstone Marsh

Location: Sewardstone Marsh, Lee Valley, Essex

*** Covid-19 guidelines advised at the time of this walk, will be followed ***

This wetland habitat with its relief channels that weave their way through it holds a wealth of wildlife. A good selection of wildfowl such as Gadwall, Teal and Shoveler will be present and we've had really good views of the elusive Water Rail on our previous walks here too! On the open areas Stonechat amongst other passerines can be seen and flocks of our winter thrushes, the Redwing and Fieldfare, will be gathering by now.

Guided walk: Hainault Forest Country Park

Location: Hainault Forest Country Park, Chigwell, Essex

*** Covid-19 guidelines advised at the time of this walk, will be followed ***

For our last walk of the year we'll take a pleasant stroll around this 'Green Flag Award' site. The small lake allows good views of heron and Cormorant and the woodland will now be busy with mixed flocks of tits, Goldcrests and Treecreepers as they search for food during the winter months. The Open grassland is generally host to birds such as Green Woodpecker and Meadow Pipit and we'll keep our eyes peeled to the skies for Buzzard and Kestrel.

For all outings we advise strong waterproof footwear and warm waterproof clothing plus, of course, binoculars.

Relax from Christmas preparations!

We are hoping that it will be possible for you to come and enjoy a get together with a quiz or two, free raffle and home made treats such as mince pies and other goodies. Last year, Covid-19 meant a very different Christmas for everyone and we held our Social evening, with quizzes, online using Zoom.
We wait to see what Christmas 2021 will bring?!
