Adult and children with book and binoculars birdwatching

Community Events - could you help us run a stall?

This is a new venture for this Local Group - we haven't had enough people to go out and try to tell people about our Group, the RSPB, birds and nature conservation etc. before. Now Jeff has decided to give it a go and has arranged to be present at three community events in the next couple of months.

Abney Park Fun Day - Sat 12th April 12pm to 4pm (includes a bird walk led by Mike Condon)

Loughton Green Festival - Sat 17th May 11am to 4pm

Copped Hall Open Day - Sun 25th May 11am to 4pm

Usual set up for these things is a table, some chairs and a gazebo if it's outside!
We need sufficient people to allow for at least one or two people to always be at the stand with time off to eat, go to the loo and, of course, enjoy whatever else is going on at the event [e.g. Copped Hall only has a couple of Open Days per year and it is a lovely place to visit].

We would love to hear from you if you think you could volunteer to help us at any of these events, even if it was only for an hour or two.

We have a smart new banner to say who we are and will have information leaflets on the stall plus a few fun things which we hope will raise some funds e.g. 'Guess the Name of the Penguin', a tombola etc.

Please do contact us if you have any questions or think you could help us.

The Wildlife of Epping Forest

The Wildlife of Epping Forest

Peter Warne's book on local wildlife contains things that not many people know. He had some more surprises for those, like most of us, fortunate enough to live near the former hunting forest.

If you click on the 'Download file' link, then you will see the striking poster that David (our Publicity officer) produced to advertise this talk.
