Film & Social Evening - our pre-Christmas meeting

Film & Social Evening - our pre-Christmas meeting

A good group of people came and had a break from Christmas preparations.

Last year was the first time we held a meeting in December and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so we thought we'd hold another pre-Christmas meeting.

We showed a short film - the amazing story of the re-introduction of the White-tailed Sea Eagle after it was persecuted to extinction at the start of the last century. A few dedicated individuals perservered over many years and set backs until the first chick successfully fledged in 1985 on Mull from its Norweigan born parents.
An absorbing and entertaing film - thanks to John for finding it for us.

The refreshments were as delicious and popular as last year (many thanks to Sarah and Wendy) as we then enjoyed the quizzes and free raffle.

There was a very appealing cuddly penguin up for grabs in the 'Name the Penguin' game (set of pre-determined names to buy with the answer in a sealed envelope - just like the Oscars!)
Jeff (our quiz and game organiser) was rather embarrassed when the name he'd selected turned out to be the winner - his daughter will be delighted as she really didn't want him to take the penguin away.

So we all wished each other a Merry Christmas as we do to everyone out there!
Hope to see you in the New Year.

See below for where we meet.
