Big Garden Birdwatch at Valentines Park

Big Garden Birdwatch at Valentines Park

We want to promote links with other local nature groups and Vision RCL have organised this event for the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch and we are pleased to be involved.

"The Nature Conservation Team have joined forces with the NE London RSPB Group to run a family friendly birdwalk. We'll try to spot some of our resident species as well as some of our less common winter visitors.

Our Birdwatch Walk is open to all ages and abilities - we'll try to provide some spare binoculars but if you have your own pair do bring them along.

If you have any questions, please contact"

The Nature Conservation Team would like to get an idea of numbers attending so would be grateful if you would sign up at

Join us at Valentines Park on Saturday 25th January at 10am - it's free!

Wildlife in London

Wildlife in London

Looking after London's wildlife is a huge and fascinating job - Dr Iain Boulton, an Ecology Officer, came to London expecting to stay for 5 years but 20 years later he is still here.

His enthusiasm for creating nature-friendly spaces in tiny spaces amongst buildings or adding them to large areas (such as Clapham Common) was infectious. Roof gardens, ponds, wildflower corridors etc all add to the mix and allow some of our varied, town wildlife to survive.

There was a short AGM before the talk.
