Birds of Moor & Mountain

Birds of Moor & Mountain

Andre Farrar took us to some wild places to meet the natives, starting with his early days with the RSPB providing protection to endangered birds such as Hen Harriers in the Forest of Bowland.

He described the changing fortunes of a variety of species and how climate change is moving birds north and west. He emphasised the importance of involving the many vested parties who influence and control what happens to our uplands - the farmers, the politicians, the tourists, the grouse moor owners, Brexit!

An entertaining and thought-provoking evening with hope for the future.
