Bob Husband, RSPB Group Leader will take us through an aural / visual presentation helping us recall the songs and calls of some of the more familiar species before introducing us to the sounds of our summer visitors.

When did you last hear the Cuckoo and how does a female Cuckoo respond?

Chiffchaffs are named after their song but their calls are very like Willow Warblers.

Blackcap & Garden Warbler songs are often confused but can they be separated on call?

Canons Park Birdwalk 7 April 2019

Location: Meet by entrance gate, Donnefield Ave, off Whitchurch Lane, Edgware, HA8 (Canons Park Station - Jubilee line - nearby)

Join us on a morning stroll around the park looking for signs of spring and passage migrants. Suitable for beginners and those interested in monitoring the wildlife of the park.
Bring binoculars & warm clothing. Boots advisable.

Brent Reservoir Birdwalk 13 April 2019

Location: Meet by bridge Cool Oak Lane, West Hendon, NW9. (Nearest NR Station West Hendon). Several bus routes (32, 83, 142, 183) serve West Hendon Broadway, which is only a short walk away.

RSPB Birdwalk with Welsh Harp Conservation Group (WHCG) at Brent Reservoir Nature Reserve for signs of spring and early summer migrants.
The walk will be led by Roy Beddard &/or John Colmans with Bob Husband, RSPB Group Leader.
These regular monthly Birdwalks last about two hours. If wet we will retreat to the shelter of the bird hides.
Warm clothes with waterproof boots and jackets are recommended.
Access will be provided to Bird Hides (normally keyholders only) but regret no WC facilities.
