We're going to be celebrating our anniversary with numerous events, including talks by very well known bird enthusiasts. These are the dates for your diaries:

Wednesday 4th September - Then and Now...40 years of change
In 1979 Keith Betton formed our Group and was its Leader for the first six years. Now, as Vice President of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), he is perfectly placed to comment on the changes for birds and birdwatching during that time.

Thurs 17th October - How to be an urban birder
Want to know how to have the most fun with your clothes on? David Lindo, aka the Urban Birder explains the intricacies of looking good whilst watching birds in urban areas.

This talk will be held in The Clarendon Room at York House and there will be a £2 charge for members to cover the cost of using this larger room.

Wednesday 6th November
An RSPB director's view
Either Beccy Speight, the RSPB's new CEO, or Rebecca Munro, Director of Fundraising and Communications will give us a view from the top.

Tues 19th November Birds behaving badly
Well-known author and bird behaviour expert Dominic Couzens reveals some of the things birds get up to in this entertaining but thoroughly informative talk.
