Unless otherwise specified, you do not need to be a member of the RSPB (or the local group) to join us on our events, and birdwatching experience is not necessary. If you have any questions please call the contact number shown with the event details.

An evening of Birdsong - a Zoom talk by Adrian Thomas

Location: The location is your own room.
The meeting will be open from 7.15 pm and the talk will start promptly at 7.30. There will be two 30 minute sessions, with a break of around 15 minutes between when you can socialise with other participants or make a cup of tea!
To register for the meeting, contact the Group website 7oaksrspb@gmail.com.
Before the meeting you will then be contacted with the meeting ID and Passcode.
Once you have registered, you will automatically receive invitations and links for subsequent presentations.
You can cancel at any time.

If you are not familiar with Zoom, it is a very user-friendly way of having meetings using the internet, and you can use a PC, Laptop, I-pad or smart phone. You can download the application for free. For guidance, 'Goggle' Zoom. There are also some good simple tutorials on 'You Tube'.

In 2015 the RSPB's Adrian Thomas set out (with his tent and alarm clock) to record and write The RSPB Guide to British Birdsong, Join Adrian as he shares his lifelong love affair with birdsong and his tips how to identify the birds behind the songs.

Alasdair McKee of the RSPB and Cumbria Wildlife Trust works closely with Ospreys in south Cumbria. He will be talking about how this most charismatic bird of prey has returned from extinction in England in the last twenty years. This entertaining illustrated talk will introduce you to these remarkable birds and tell the story of a remarkable conservation comeback in Cumbria and beyond. And explain where the shopping bag comes in!
