Weekend Walk - General Cemetery

Male blackcap in hawthorn bush

Saturday, 9 May 2015

The morning was cool and windy, making the birds a little reluctant to sing. However there were good numbers of Blackbirds, Robins and Wrens and, as the weather improved, these were joined by Great Tits, Goldfinches, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps.

We were a little disappointed not to see or hear any Nuthatches, Treecreepers or Woodpeckers - birds that are usually quite vocal at this time of year.
