Weekend Walk - Parkwood Springs

Goldfinch on seed feeder

Saturday, 10 September 2016

After leaving the car park, one of the first birds we heard was a Chiffchaff and this was soon joined by a Robin.

Once out of the woodland, we gained fabulous views of the Don Valley and of the visible migration of Swallows and House Martins. We played hide and seek with a lovely flock of Goldfinch and our patience was rewarded with stunning views of these colourful birds.

After seeing several gulls and a Cormorant it began to rain but we finished with a list of 25 species.
