Midweek Walk - Longshaw

Swallow perched on wire fence in Spain

Wednesday, 11 September 2019

Due to the gusty conditions and heavy showers, we struggled to see any birds at all. However we did witness the visible migration of swallows on their incredible journey to Africa.

We went on to see great tit, chaffinch and robin, all keeping their heads down as they sheltered from the weather. A brief glimpse of a treecreeper was nice and a Mandarin duck amongst a raft of mallard on the lake made a fitting end to our walk.
