WINTER UPDATE

Hello all, just a couple of words regarding what we can expect over the coming months. Firstly your local group are working hard in the background trying to come up with a plan that meets Government regulations. The indoor meetings are unlikely to return in the near future however, we are working to see if we can arrange outdoor meetings, although this is difficult with the new Tier system.
As for birds, with the clocks going back and the nights drawing in new birds are arriving in the area all the time. Venus Pool has already had Pink Footed geese among the resident Greylags and Wigeon and Little Egrets are becoming easier to see. There has also been a Great White Egret at Venus Pool. Redwings and Fieldfares are now abundant over the reserve and other reserves are now open although the hides remain closed. For those who like the exotic there is a juvenile Rose Coloured Starling at Whitchurch, The Local Group Committee will keep you all in formed regarding future events so keep looking at the website.
