Field Trip to Anglesey

Puffin with sandeels in beak

Sunday, 7 July 2013

The group met at 9.30am and headed off to Fedw Fawr just north of Beau Maris. This is a delightful birding spot and gave us views of Black Guillemot, Shag, Razorbill, Choughs, Wllow Warbler, Linnet and lots of beautiful orchids.
We then moved on to Cemlyn Bay to see Sandwich Terns, Common Terns, Arctic Terns and a breeding pair of Mediterranean gulls!
Our next port of call was South Stack to see Chough, Puffin, Fulmar, Guillemot, Razorbill and Rock pipit.
A great days birding with over 50 species seen. The trip home didn't seem so long after such an excellent day.
