Events

We hold monthly indoor meetings between September and April (except December) usually on the fourth Thursday of the month. The last meeting in 2021 (on 25th November) will be in The Cerne Abbas Room of the United Church Dorchester, 49 - 51 Charles Street, Dorchester, DT1 1EE. However from the start of next year our indoor meeting venue is changing to St Georges Hall, Fordington, Dorchester DT1 1LB, where there is a car park on site. Doors open at 7.00 pm for a 7.15pm start. A modest entrance fee is charged to cover costs of speakers and the hall (Currently £3.00 for members and £4.00 for visitors).

We hold field trips between September and June. Members are encouraged to car-share where possible, although public transport may be used for some local trips. Do not worry if you are new to birdwatching as there is always an experienced leader for the field trips and plenty of people who love to share their knowledge! It is a fantastic way to learn about birds.

Field trips start at the advertised time and are all day unless otherwise stated. Please bring food and drink if you require refreshment and make sure to wear/bring suitable clothing and footwear.
In the event of adverse weather conditions please check before setting out that the meeting is going ahead, to avoid unnecessary travel. We aim to advise cancellations on this web site.
