New season re-opening postponed

We had planned a full programme of events for the next season, but unfortunately we have had to cancel them until the end of 2020, due to government restrictions on gatherings. This decision affects all local groups and applies to all our events, including field trips and indoor meetings. There will be a review of this decision in October, so we'll post more information then.

Reserves gradually re-opening

Before we open any reserve, our priority is to make sure that we have everything in place to keep our staff and visitors safe. We also need to take precautions to protect wildlife, especially as birds are still nesting. All hides, toilets and visitor centres remain closed for the moment. Please follow the signs on reserves. One-way systems, passing places, and markings may be in place to assist with social distancing. Some reserves will be operating shorter opening hours than usual.

Reserves open in our area are:
Broadwater Warren
Capel Fleet raptor viewpoint, Isle of Sheppey
Pagham Harbour and Medmerry
Pulborough Brooks
Tudeley Woods

Proud bullfinch

A member sent this photo in, not a rarity of course but always great to see. He wasn't on his own but the hen had disappeared into the depths of a clump of forget-me-not to eat the seeds.
