Controversy continues about Tunbridge Wells' plans for housing development on Green Belt land

Controversy continues about Tunbridge Wells' plans for housing development on Green Belt land

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council's Draft Local Plan is proposing the development of 4,260 new houses on Green Belt land, much of which is flood plain. The development is close to the border of Tonbridge and Malling Borough and likely to have a bigger impact on Tonbridge than on Tunbridge Wells.

The Save Capel campaign is raising awareness of the plans and has put together a helpful guide about how to comment on the proposals. The current round of consultation is open until 5pm on June 4th.

They are also suggesting that local residents make their views known to Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells borough councillors.
