Not so many birds on this field trip, but a number of butterflies and many flowers including orchids and chalk downland specialities.

Birds:Wren, robin, blackbird, great tit, blue tit, chaffinch, chiffchaff, great spotted woodpecker, blackcap, coal tit, magpie, woodpigeon, green woodpecker, turkey, pheasant, whitethroat, swift, cormorant and nuthatch. (19)

Butterflies: Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Large Skipper, Small Heath, Large White, Speckled Wood and Comma (7)

Flowers: Herb-Robert, Bramble, Wood Avens, Rock Rose, St John's-wort, Agrimony, Yellow-wort, Oxeye Daisy, Red Clover, Germander Speedwell, Bird's-foot-trefoil, Selfheal, Buttercup, Rough Hawkbit, Eyebright, Wood Woundwort, Common Milkwort, Black Medick, Pyramidal Orchid, Common Spotted Orchid, Common Centaury, Marjoram, Vervain, Wood Sage, Euphorbia, Scarlet Pimpernel, Daisy, Privet, Stinking Iris, Mouse-ear Hawkweed, Lesser Hawkbit, Cuckoo-pint, Hoary Plantain, Scabious, Burdock, Musk Thistle, Buddleia, Dog and Woodruff (40)

Other: Slow-worm, grey squirrel and Wayfaring Tree

Common Centaury and Yellow-wort are both flowers of chalky downland.
