Fifteen people enjoyed a guided walk by Matt the Warden. He provided some very interesting information about the Reserve and the plans that are being put into action. He told us how there needs to be more dead wood available, and more connected woodland in the south-east if we are to see an increase in lesser spotted woodpeckers and marsh tits. He talked about putting up some feeders in the area where the crossbills are, so they will be easier to see. It made it an extra special field trip to have such a knowledgeable guide.
