A great day at Sheppey as it was a sunny day with a light breeze although it clouded over later.

At Leysdown we saw stonechats and distant waders then a short-eared owl disappeared behind a bank. Along the sea wall we saw marsh harriers, a few buzzards, peregrine and a male merlin. Waders came in with the tide and we saw redshank, grey plover, dunlin, sanderling, turnstone, black-tailed godwit, bar-tailed godwit, oystercatchers, knot, curlew and ringed plover.

At the raptor watch point we saw more than 15 marsh harriers, distant short-eared owl and barn owls and the common crane was still there.
