Voluntary Work

If you would like to support the RSPB by doing some voluntary work and learn new skills our group supports all three reserves in Cumbria and the Osprey Project at Bassenthwaite.There are volunteering opportunities for manning the new visitor centre at Campfield Marsh RSPB Reserve, welcoming and giving information to visitors to the reserve. There are also outdoor jobs of conservation and maintenance out on the reserves. The Osprey Project offers work in visitor information and protection. More...

Below is the programme of illustrated talks for the next season starting in September. These meetings with illustrated talks are held at the United Reformed Church on Main Street in Cockermouth and are usually on the first Tuesday of the month starting in September and through to April at 7.30pm. These meetings are free to West Cumbria Local Group members, non members adults £2 and children 50p.Check out the events page nearer to each to the meetings for more information about the talks. More...

This was our first group visit to Martin Mere for some time and there have been some excellent changes made to the reserve. Twenty six people joined the bus trip down into Lancashire with a rather wet start to the day. More...
