Below is the programme of illustrated talks for the next season starting in September. These meetings with illustrated talks are held at the United Reformed Church on Main Street in Cockermouth and are usually on the first Tuesday of the month starting in September and through to April at 7.30pm. VOLUNTARY WORK HAS BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS SITUATION. WHEN ALL GETS BACK TO NORMAL MAYBE YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ONE OF OUR TEAMS.If you would like to support the RSPB by doing some voluntary work and learn new skills our group supports all three reserves in Cumbria and the Osprey Project at Bassenthwaite.There are volunteering opportunities for manning the new visitor centre at Campfield Marsh RSPB Reserve, welcoming and giving information to visitors to the reserve. There are also outdoor jobs of conservation and maintenance out on the reserves. The Osprey Project offers work in visitor information and protection. More...

Trip to Caelaverock 22/2/2020

Yes Caelaverock not Mereshead as planned. Due to the very wet weather prior to this visit the roads leading to Mereshead were closed due to flooding. Caelaverock was open to visitors so therefore saved the day. Although wellies were advised to access some of the hides. More...
