December morning walk from Bynea to the Millenium Path

Sunday, 15 December 2013

Eight hardy souls attended a damp and overcast start but very quickly it began to rain. Unfortunately as we walked along the estuary edge the weather worsened, becoming colder and wetter with low cloud. This was disappointing as we had had good views of the birds up until then. We decided to head for home as it was difficult to see very much because of the conditions. Total bird count for the short time we were out was 19 including Brent Geese, Lapwing, Redshank, Cormorant, Widgeon, Bar-tailed Godwit, Curlew, Heron, Oystercatcher plus the usual hedgerow and field birds.
