#### Cancellation of all Group activities due to Covid-19 until at least January 2021 ####

You will no doubt recall that in March the committee, after receiving guidance from RSPB Head Office, took the difficult but necessary decision to cancel all Group activities until at least September 2020. We indicated that we would revisit the position once RSPB Head Office had reviewed the medical evidence and government advice.

I can confirm that RSPB Head Office have now undertaken that review. Based upon the advice recently received from Head Office, the committee have sadly been left with no alternative but to cancel ALL Group activities, both indoor and outside, until at least January 2021.

This is a very unfortunate position but we took this decision on specific guidance from RSPB Head Office. Their guidance has been based upon the need to protect members and visitors to activities run by the Group at a time when there is much uncertainty as to how to run an event in a Covid -19 secure way.

I can confirm that RSPB Head Office will review the position (of group activities recommencing from January 2021) later this year, probably in October, and once their advice has been conveyed to me I will update you.

Once the Group is back meeting again, the 2020 AGM ( which was postponed from May this year) will take place so that we can formalise the Group Accounts and committee composition in line with our constitution.

Rest assured, the committee have been working hard over the last few months to create an exciting and varied programme for 2021 for you to enjoy.

I am sure that you, like me, will be hugely disappointed about this but your safety is of paramount importance.

In the meantime, I thank you for your continued support and hope you keep safe and well. I look forward to seeing you again, hopefully, at the indoor meeting in January 2021.

Jeremy
Group Leader.
