Volunteers preparing natterjack pond

Lock Down News

Who'd have thought at the outset that it would go on for so long? But things are beginning to look more hopeful with the successful roll out of the vaccination programme and the liklihood of an easing of restrictions in the near future. Certainly we are hoping that our group trips to Mull in May will go ahead.

Meanwhile, we are all doing our best to keep up our spirits by noticing the birds and wildlife in our gardens and on our daily walks. Some of our members who live in the sticks have been reporting on our WhatsApp site some great sightings of birds that us townies are less likely to see. Needless to say few of our special garden birds were nowhere to be seen when doing the Big Garden Birdwatch.

A reminder to members to complete and return the Volunteer Questionnaire sent out by our committee recently. As more requests are made to the Group for help with conservation projects, there needs to be a register of volunteers willing to take on some of these tasks. Personally, I can't wait to get stuck in.

The committee has also been busy devising ways of keeping in touch with members and to this end have been putting our Indoor Meetings on line, so no need to feel deprived. So far they have proved very successful and the efforts of those who have made it happen are very much appreciated. Information on these Zoom talks can be found under Events.
