Events

RSPB York Local Group run at least two events every month of the year. From September to May we have indoor meetings (afternoon and evening) with a speaker. These talks range from local sites and birds to exotic and remote parts of the world. Every month of the year we organise an outing by car or coach to a nature reserve in our region and/or a walk in the York area. There is an annual trip away to a UK or international destination. Everyone is welcome to join in our events.

AFTERNOON INDOOR MEETING: "The Seychelles" by Paul Bartlett.
Note the AGM is in the afternoon this year and will follow an illustrated talk by our LG member Paul Bartlett about the Seychelles. Paul is a retired biologist and, with Julie, took advantage of a 7-day small yacht cruise to observe some of the birds and other wildlife of this archipelago. Each of the seven islands visited is noticeably different, which is reflected in the surprising variety of marine and terrestrial birds photographed, as well as the beautiful scenery. A small-ship cruise with a difference.
