Garston Wood Winter Coppicing

Wednesday 5 January

10 am to 3.30 pm if you can stay all day

Price: FREE, with tools, gloves and training provided

Woodland work for wildlife continues at Garston Wood, on Sundays and Wednesdays, throughout the winter. Staff from RSPB Arne will run these work parties - tools, work gloves and supervised training are all provided. Covid-safe working practice will be maintained as and when necessary over the season.

The work undertaken is vital to maintain the rich diversity of plant and animal life in this beautiful RSPB reserve, and is also healthy good fun - visiting the "Green Gym!" or "Natural Health Service!".

Bring your own drinks and a packed lunch if you can stay all day, but do come if you can only spare a half-day.

Please note: this event is run by an RSPB volunteer group and is organised for interested members of the local community.

We meet at 10 am in the main public car park at the northern end of Garston Wood, one and a half miles north of Sixpenny Handley on the Bowerchalke road (SU 003195).
