Rutland Water is the largest reservoir in Britain and during our visit will be host to warblers, waders and wildfowl. The Egleton reserve, the site of our visit, has 10 hides and a visitor centre with shop. The major attraction is the ospreys, which should have returned from Africa in March to breed. In addition there should be returning summer migrants with the possibility of nightingale which has started brreding at Rutland in the last three years.
