Garston Wood Winter Coppicing
Sunday 21 March
10 am to 3.30 pm if you can stay all day
Price: FREE, and TOOLS AND TUITION ARE PROVIDED
Woodland work for wildlife continues at Garston Wood, on Sundays and Wednesdays, throughout the winter. Covid-safe working practice will be maintained.
The work undertaken is vital to maintain the rich diversity of plant and animal life in this beautiful RSPB reserve, and is also healthy good fun - visiting the "Green Gym!" or "Natural Health Service!".
Staff from RSPB Arne will run these work parties - tools and supervised training are all provided.
You will need to bring your own work gloves if possible and hand sanitiser with 70% alcohol. If you haven't got gloves, or forget them, RSPB will give you a new pair on loan for the winter season. Bring your own drinks and a packed lunch if you can stay all day, but do come if you can only spare a half-day.
Please note: this event is run by an RSPB volunteer group and is organised for interested members of the local community.
Directions
We meet at 10 am in the main public car park at the northern end of the reserve, one and a half miles north of Sixpenny Handley on the Bowerchalke road (SU 003195). In the event of bad weather phone 01722 712713 to check if the task has been cancelled.
