Join us for a wonderful day this summer, where you can indulge your love of nature, hone your creative skills and enjoy some fantastic food. We’ll start our day by getting closer to nature as we take a look at some magnificent moths and get ‘behind the scenes’ as our expert team takes you on a guided walk visiting exclusive parts of the reserve in search of reptiles. Then choose from a nature photography safari with our photography guides John and Andy who will talk you through a few key techniques for you to try with your camera and some hints and tips on composition. You’ll then have the opportunity to test out some new ideas, with chance to get up close with some of our amazing wildlife. You’ll be in a small group so John and Andy will be able to provide you with some 1:1 advice and will help you to track down, identify and photograph wildlife and the beautiful landscape. Or else take a wildlife drawing workshop and spend a day learning how to capture on paper the colours, textures and movement of wildlife in this workshop led by Emily Summers, artist behind Miss Magpie Wildlife Art. You’ll be shown basic drawing techniques that can be applied to any subject, and have the opportunity to work on a detailed piece inspired by the wildlife here at Pulborough Brooks, while receiving plenty of 1:1 advice. No previous experience is required. Your picnic lunch will be provided. The workshops will finish around 5 pm and you’ll have a little down time before supper in the café followed by a night-time safari on the heathland where we’ll look and listen for nightjars, bats & glow worms.
