Woolly Weekend

Saturday 7 July and Sunday 8 July

9.30am - 5.00pm

Price: Half price entry just £2.50 (RSPB Members FREE) Activity passes £3 per person (£2 for RSPB Members)

Join us as we give our sheep their annual haircut and celebrate all things woolly.

We've even got extra special Alpaca visitors to our wonderful reserve this year for all the family to enjoy - along with demonstrations over the weekend of both traditional hand shearing and modern sheep shearing methods - not to be missed!

We're pleased to announce we will also see the return of last years very popular sheep dog demonstration so it'll be an action-packed weekend - don't miss out!

In celebration of all things Woolly, the talented team from the Durhams Spinners and Weavers will be showing off their skills with a fleece, demonstrating just what happens to it when the sheep no longer needs it and even letting us have a go.

There'll also be woolly workshops along with special quests and activities for all including drop spinning crafts and natural willow weaving. We'll have some mini looms out and about for people to try!

On the afternoon of Sunday 8 July, we will have a special Knitter's Picnic on our events field - it's open to all so bring along your needles, picnic basket and blanket to join in.

To celebrate the return of this event, we're offering half price general site entry at just £2.50 per car (FREE for RSPB Members and those travelling by public transport). To join in the fun, Woolly Weekend activity passes can be purchased at reception on arrival.

Activity passes are just:

-£3 person (or £2 per person for RSPB Members)

Under 2's GO FREE

*Passes cover all activities excluding Alpaca Walks- these may be available over the weekend and are subject to a small additional charge.
