The spectacular Trough of Bowland with Kathy Jones leading a walk along the Langden Beck valley for about two miles with the possibility of cuckoo, dipper, grey wagtail, common sandpiper and stonechat, and then, as the valley opens up, red grouse on the hillsides, and hunting raptors such as merlin, buzzard and kestrel, though hen harriers are only a faint possibility these days.

The big prize would be ring ouzel and our trips here in the past have a good success rate, wheatear is another regular sighting. If time permits perhaps a short visit to the Dunsop valley may be included.
Langdon paths are rough underfoot and this walk usually includes two gentle hill climbs.

The trip leaves Turner St, Wigan at 8.00 am.
