Discover the amazing Flow Country & Britain's longest train journey 'The Jellicoe Express'

Tuesday 30 April

2pm

Price: Free

Join The Flow Country's 'Flows to the Future' project team and RSPB Scotland in commemorating the Royal Naval Train commonly known as "The Jellicoe Express" at the Forsinard Flows visitor centre.

The Jellicoe Express was Britain's longest train journey and transported military personnel from London to Thurso during the First and Second World Wars. One of its scheduled stops was Forsinard Station, where RSPB Scotland Forsinard Flows visitor centre is located.

There will be hands-on activities, talks, and you will discover how the mosses that are so characteristic of the Flow Country helped the war effort. There will also be a selection of old fashioned cakes to enjoy and an official unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

Booking is not essential but it is recommended. Please phone or email to book.
