Ardmore Point - Mid-week Outing

Wednesday 16 October

10.30 am to 3 pm

Price: Free

Our second mid-week outing of the session is to Ardmore Point on Wednesday 16th October 2019. Hopefully, in addition to a range of waders and wildfowl we should see several passerines in the adjoining fields, trees and bushes. The path around Ardmore Point can be very wet so wellington boots rather than walking boots are recommended. There are no hides and at some time during the walk we will be facing into the wind so bring appropriate, warm clothing. Bring a 'scope, if you have one, packed lunch/drink. If weather and tide conditions are suitable, we may visit Cardross Bay after lunch.

We aim to meet at the layby adjacent to the shore at 10:30. Leave Cardross on the A814 (Helensburgh road) and turn left 1 mile after leaving Cardross. See map showing the parking area.

Prior to this, the suggested coffee/breakfast stop will be at Ardardan Garden Centre and Cafe, Ardardan Estate, Cardross, G82 5HD. Leave Cardross on the A814 (Helensburgh road) and turn left ¾ mile after leaving Cardross. Garden Centre opens at 10:00 so please don't arrive too early.

Please note: this event is run by an RSPB volunteer group and is organised for interested members of the local community.
