Ever heard the singing on a spring morning? The dawn chorus is one of the most beautiful sounds of the season. A true symphony of nature, one of the most magical moments in the natural world.

RSPB Old Moor are celebrating International Dawn Chorus Day, on Sunday 3 May with an expert led guided walk. Our reserve has a rich variety of habitats, with reedbeds, wet grassland, wetland scrapes, historic hedgerows and woodland all home to a wide array of bird species. We have 10 different species of singing warbler, bitterns, lapwing, redshank, snipe and a black headed gull colony. The guides will be on hand to help identify the species of birds singing and show visitors the other wildlife that calls the Deanre Valley home.

Following the walk head back to Old Moor's visitor centre and the cafe where you can enjoy a free breakfast roll and hot drink.

Bird song CD's and DVD's will be available to purchase in the visitor centre after the walk should you wish.
