Coastline litter pick

Saturday 29 February

10am-1pm

Price: Free

*Please note this event takes place at Burton Marsh rather than Burton Mere Wetlands*

The RSPB and SC Johnson are working together to take action on the issue of marine plastics through a programme reaching over 300,000 people in 2019 and 2020. This work is possible due to their generous support.

Come along and help us clean up this important part of the RSPB Dee Estuary reserve. After the incredible recent surge tide caused by Storm Ciara, there is a large amount of litter to be cleared alongside the Burton Marsh Greenway.

Appropriate outdoor clothing and strong, sturdy footwear are essential; wellies are recommended as we'll be walking along the inner saltmarsh to gather the litter left by the high tide, but there will be drier areas that need clearing too.

Some strong work gloves and litter pickers will be available to borrow on the day, but please bring your own if you have them. The nearest toilets and refreshments for purchase will be at nearby Nets Cafe, Denhall Fishery.

Meet by the red flag at the bottom of Station Road/Denhall Lane, west of Burton village for a 10am start.
