Yesterday provided two firsts for me!
The first was a Wheatear, kindly confirmed by Alan and others on this forum. The second was this bird and juvenile . . . now I think it's a Linnet but I know I could be wrong. Again, these were spotted along the same coastal footpath in west Wales.
Nice one Roger looks like you had a great walk.
Yep an adult and young Linnet
Brilliant! Thanks a lot Alan! The walk was awesome. We parked in New Quay and walked up the coastal path to a place known as Birds Rock. I discovered how unfit I am! Once there though, it was great to see plenty of Kittiwakes, Razorbills and Guillemots, not to mention seeing a Crow flying off with a chick in its beak and a Kestrel!
Walking back to the car was when I saw the Wheatears and Linnets . . . all in all a great couple of hours.
We're going to return when the weather is a littel better later in the week.
